Raising children is no easy task, especially when juggling a successful career in Hollywood at the same time! That’s why many celebrities choose to hire a nanny to provide a little extra help around the house while they’re at work. But despite busy schedules, some of these famous parents refused to have nannies to take care of their children on their own.
From Eva Mendes to Reese Witherspoon, these stars have all admitted they didn’t hire help, even though it would have made life with their children a whole lot easier. Instead, they chose to do it alone so they could spend as much time as possible with their children.

1. Mila Kunis & Ashton Kutcher
When Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher welcomed their first child Wyatt, they agreed they wouldn’t have a nanny until absolutely necessary. Ashton Explain that they wanted to be “emotionally in touch” with the infant and that they felt the only way to do that was to be the ones there.
Mila later confirmed Ashton’s statements, explaining that as a new mom, she was “watching every night” with the little girl while they got to know each other. And on top of that, Ashton was a big help with changing diapers and swaddling the baby. At the time, Mila was still a full-time mum, but she shared that when she got to a point where work got too overwhelming, she would be open to a nanny.
“When I go back to work full time and have to work 17 hour days, I will need someone to come and help me because I can’t do both. But because I’m at a very specific place in my life where I could take time off, I did,” Mila said on “Ellen’s show.”

2. eva mendes & Ryan Gosling
After Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling welcomed daughter Esmeralda in 2014, the couple decided against hiring a nanny. Eva explained that at the time she wanted to be an active mother and take care of her daughter herself. And after Eva and Ryan welcomed their daughter Amada, a The source said they had always chosen not to have a nanny.

When Hilarie Burton and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s son was just a toddler, they shared that they had no help raising him. Jeffrey admitted the little boy kept the working parents busy, but it was so worth it.
