Redmi Note 11 Pro + review
Redmi has always made cheap and quality smartphones. But every now and then you want to push a little higher. He does it today with the high-sounding Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G.
Inside the package we find a transparent silicone cover, a USB / USB-C cable and an incredible 120W power supply.
Construction and Ergonomics
Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G it has an overall simple, very boxy design, with a slightly protruding camera module. The back is made of frosted glass (quite pleasant to the touch), while the profile is made of plastic. Although it does not stand out particularly for its shapes, we still appreciate how recognizable it is still a smartphone of the Xiaomi family. Plus the phone is also splash proof and you can therefore use it on a rainy day without many problems. However, it is important in size. Not for all budgets.
What a mess! Between Redmi Note 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro 5G and 11 Pro + 5G there is to lose your head. Even more so if we think that for different markets smartphones with the same name have different specifications. Xiaomi has chosen a very powerful processor for this smartphone Mediatek Dimensity 920 octa core at 6 nanometers from 2.5 GHz. We then have a Mali G68 GPU and 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The internal memory amounts to 128 GB UFS 2.2. On the market we also find the cheaper version with 6 GB of RAM. Excellent connectivity: 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC.
On the upper profile of the smartphone we find 3 surprises: the infrared emitter, the 3.5 mm headphone connector and the audio indications created in collaboration with JBL. Not bad for a product in this price range. The vibration and also the proximity sensor are also discreet, which still works quite well despite being once again of the virtual type.
The main camera is a good sensor 108 megapixels ƒ / 1.8, while in support we have an 8 megapixel ƒ / 2.2 and a not very useful 2 megapixel ƒ / 2.4 macro. The main camera is a sensor that undoubtedly amazes with its quality in this price range. The images are sharp, with well balanced colors and with good focus. The software is then simple to use and fluid in its operation. With little light the difference compared to higher-end smartphones becomes more marked but the manual night mode is still very incisive, going to increase the shutter speed but enriching the final shot with details and light.
The wide-angle camera is also discreet, but it suffers from its resolution certainly not at the top of the category. This camera then defends itself sufficiently even at night with the special mode. Don’t expect top-of-the-range shots, but for the price it was a surprise. The front camera in the hole is also discreet. It is a 16 megapixel ƒ / 2.4.
The videos are more than enough. In 4K to 30fps from the main and in Full HD from the wide angle.
Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G puts a screen on the plate SuperAMOLED 6.67 “with FullHD + resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels) and the possibility of operating with refresh rate increased to 120 Hz. The screen also has a peak brightness of 1,200 nits and support for HDR10. As if that weren’t enough to enrich the card, we find the 360 Hz touch sampling and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It’s just a shame that there is no real always-on display for notifications, but only a system that reactivates when you touch the screen. Overall, however, the screen of this smartphone is one of the reasons to buy it.
Redmi offers an interface on this smartphone MIUI extremely fluid and feature rich. We have the possibility to put the apps in the window, the video game turbo, a beauty mode for video calls, the video tools (which also allow you to lock the screen and continue listening to the audio of the videos) and a second space to divide the working environment from the private one.
Everything perfect if it were not that the MIUI is at version 12.5 and Android version 11 (with January 2022 patches). Xiaomi is the demonstration that having the latest version of Android is no longer essential to have a complete smartphone, but it is still a great regret to discover that you still have to depend on a software version that is now old, with the risk of receiving a smaller number of updates over time.
Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G has a 4,500 mAh. Not a lot if we think about the size of the smartphone. This space, however, is exploited to be able to offer the smartphone one 120W charging which allows you to fully charge your smartphone in just 15 minutes. An absolute record among all smartphones in circulation. Even without bringing up fast charging, in any case, the autonomy was much more than satisfactory, practically always guaranteeing a full day of use.
Redmi Note 11 Pro + 5G is sold at € 449 which is a really attractive price for everything the smartphone has to offer. Of course it is not a bargain price, but at the moment it is already at 377 € up Amazonmaking it a truly intriguing product for anyone who can make it to their budget.
