What to do at the weekend in Forlì and surroundings

A weekend that extends with the feast of April 25, which in addition to the institutional celebrations offers several appointments, together with the Earth Day anniversary. Do not miss a series of concerts and theatrical performances between the classic and events for families. There are also evenings between food and music, markets, and exhibitions in the area, ranging from comics to painting, sculpture and recycling. Here are the events from Friday to Monday.

Stridoli and Sangiovese

After two years of interruption, due to the restrictions imposed by Covid measures, it returns on Saturday and Sunday Sangiovese di Modigliana festival, which in 2019 reached the milestone of the 50th edition. An event that wants to celebrate Sangiovese and combines the name of Modigliana with this prestigious wine, symbol of Romagna. It begins on Saturday evening with the “Ceningiro” an itinerant dinner that develops along the paths of the historic center. On Friday for the review “Forlì Grande Musica” the appointment entitled “Mozart and surroundings” consecrates the duo formed by very young and talented brothers Parravicini, Lodovico and Nicolò, who will perform at the Church of Sant’Antonio Abate in Ravaldino in Forlì with music by Mozart and Beethoven. Fifth concert instead for the music program Forlì Musica Primavera, Saturday at the Diego Fabbri Theater in Forlì. Maestro Gianna Fratta at the direction of the Maderna Orchestra will present a program that includes romantic masterpieces by Tchaikovsky, the first of Brahms’ symphonies and Mangani’s acrobatic arrangement of Verdi’s pages which will be performed by the extraordinary Corrado Giuffredi on clarinet. She also continues the cycle “Musical paintings”, the aperitif concerts within the “Spectator’s School”: Sunday at the Ridotto of the Diego Fabbri Theater, a new musical performance, “Women in music”, performed by the “Luminoso Duo”, composed by Tadeja Kralj on the harp and Tanja Jarc on the flute. The competition “Adopt a musician” this year has reached its eighteenth edition, dedicated to young music students up to 16 years of age, it is open to all musical genres and aims to support and enhance young talents. The finalists will perform accompanied by the Maderna Orchestra, always under the baton of the musical director Gianna Fratta, on Monday at the Diego Fabbri Theater in Forlì.

On the stages of theaters

On Friday the Verdi theater in Forlimpopoli hosts Beppe Casales who will stage his monologue “Nazieruopa”: the show was among the finalist works at the 18th edition of the Teatro Resistente review at Casa Cervi, and was the winner of the Theatrical Mass 2019 award. Casales’s monologue travels on two tracks, the word and the images, and is together with a letter to a daughter and a journey that starts from Germany in the 1930s and reaches the Europe of the borders. He arrives at the Municipal Theater of Predappio “AA (Aspiring Assassins)”, staged by the Fellowship of the Ring directed by Francesco Lezza. Appointment on Saturday and Sunday with three badly mistreated employees, a self-styled homicide consultant and a decidedly sui generis killer: unexpected events, misunderstandings, twists and turns in the new prose of La Compagnia dell’Anello. The show Silver nose of the Progetto company gg is staged, for the review “A Teatro in Famiglia”, on Saturday at the Dragoni di Meldola: it is taken from a tale of the popular tradition also collected by Italo Calvino in Fiabe Italiane. Also in Forlimpopoli, on Saturday, off to the family theater, with “The Nutcracker” by the Fior di Teatro company: reality and fantasy, meek toys that become brave fighters and nightmares that bloom into beautiful dreams, all mix in the story of the Nutcracker.

April 25 is Earth Day

With exposure “Art and Business – Dino Zoli, 50 years of creativity”, scheduled until 2 October, at the Dino Zoli Foundation in Forlì, the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Dino Zoli’s entrepreneurial activity officially open: the exhibition offers an excursus through the works of the permanent collection and the main art projects promoted by the Dino Zoli Foundation. 3 years after the last exhibition dedicated to Benito Partisani, in art Mastro Lupo, the Farneti Art Gallery of Forlì, offers an in-depth study on the artistic journey of this extraordinary character. Painter, draftsman, ceramist and sculptor Benito Partisani (Predappio 1906-1969), he was a prominent man in the municipality of Predappio, of which he became Mayor in the immediate post-war period. The photographic exhibition opens at the Oratory of San Sebastiano in Forlì “Invisible children. The Childhood Lockdown “: the management of the magazine “Infanzia” wanted to give voice and image to this condition of invisibility, urging families to represent it by photographing games, didactic activities (at a distance), moments of daily life, tests of resistance and resilience in place in their own houses during lockdown. With the beginning of 2022, Comic Strip Dante started the ‘Dante701’ project, starting with a calendar of proposals that sees the ‘Dante Disneyano’ event in the foreground. At Palazzo Morattini, Pievequinta di Forlì, one can be visited exhibition of family trees of local families from Carpinello to San Pietro in Vincoli, curated by Mauro Mariani. At the birthplace of Mussolini in Predappio it can be visited from Saturday the exhibition “From Dovìa to Predappio Nuova”: it is an exhibition of books, documents, paintings, sculptures and bas-reliefs from collectors or public bodies that retrace the history of Predappio and the surrounding territories. For the penultimate weekend of April Sala San Luigi has chosen the screening of the film “Belfast”an autobiographical coming of age novel by director Kenneth Branagh.
